“Learn from the ones who came before, and lay the trail for those who come after.” - Expedition 33

Clair Obscure Expedition 33 is a game that shook the gaming community in a good way. It’s rare to hear of a small indie studio having almost AAA studio quality right out of the gate with their first published title. But Sandfall Interactive managed to do just that.

Sandfall Interactive being a French developer had many references to parisian culture with one of them being a costume in the game that requires extra work to unlock. This costume was both a fan favorite and a cosplayers dream easy costume.

That costume was the “Baguette” skin that could be unlocked in the game by finding hidden mimes throughout the world and defeating them. (Which is no easy task) The best part? The costume turns all of the characters’ weapons into baguettes.

The majority of the costume I already owned and was all a matter of finding them in my closet. I wanted to make sure when viewed this costume would be known to come from Expedition 33. So I created the expedition flag using Illustrator and lots of references to have a flag made to carry around. For the baguette I sewed elastic to the sash to keep it in place and used a real baguette I purchased at Costco.
